    Accepting Submissions for February Exhibit at Nina's Nook

    Call for Artists:

    Have you created erotic art work  and not found the right venue for displaying it? Nina’s Nook provides an opportunity to explore the continuum from sensual to smutty during the “love month” of February.  Dust off those Chaucerian dioramas and naughty dream boxes. 

    Artists are welcome to submit up to three works for inclusion in the “Triple S: Sensual>Sexual>Smut” exhibit at Nina’s Nook in Turners Falls during the month of February 2012.

    Painting, Photography, Fiber, mixed media ( not to exceed 20 by 20 inches) and tabletop sized Sculpture welcome, as well as small functional/craft items that are erotic in nature (excluding clothing or food items).

    Or email images to [email protected] with Triple S in subject line. Please mail/email contact information, brief artists statement relating to the submissions, dimensions and prices of work submitted for jurying, and a $10 check to Nina’s by December 23rd.    

    A limited number of works will be selected due to size constraints of the art space. Smaller work more likely to be chosen.

    Becket Arts Center Exhibit Opening August 20

    More new work to show from this summer, and some favorites from the Burnett Gallery show earlier this year!

    This will be like bringing Nina's Nook to the Berkshires, since there will be pocketwheels and jewelry included with my fine art.

     

    The exhibit will be up until September 5, when Ariel's exhibit comes down at the Nook.

    Ariel Jones to Exhibit New Work at Nina's Nook

    "New Work by Ariel Jones" will open Friday, August 19 at Nina's Nook in Turners Falls. Ariel Jones, mainly known for her portraiture, recently returned to Western Mass from the Cape and New York. In recent years she has turned to mixed media painting using photography, glazes, acrylics and pen.
    Her subject is mainly old architecture on the Cape and in Western Massachusetts. Isolating the buildings from from their environment Ariel creates iconic images of irony, humor and sometimes beauty. This focus expresses the same exploration of unique qualities found in her portrait work.
    Nina's Nook is a tiny, hole-in-the-wall art space located at 125A Avenue A (between Equi's Candy Store and Tognarelli Heating) in Turners Falls,MA.  An opening reception will be held from 7pm until 9:30 pm Friday, August 19.  Through September 5.

    Sparkling Czech glass beads twisted and turned within unique enameled wires, by Liz Smith, at a VERY affordable price!  Posting a picture soon to tempt you.

    Squash Blossom pins...everyone picks them up and is so intrigued...but they want to do something else with them like barrettes or rings or shoe decorations...I'll have to make some hair thingies with them.
