My gut feeling for this form is that it is a boat, even though the shape is not a boat but more like twin peaks of a mountain. My feeling was an Egyptian or other square sailed craft. The hollow ceramic base is covered in geometric designs. Does it look floatable? Perhaps it is the sort of craft a "slug nation" would make.
I wanted a very stressed sail that had been on many journeys and through many wars. The canvas has been gun shot and has holes surrounded by powder burns, and is stitched together in many sections over the brazed wire form.

The Wharf Rat Band
Here they are, united at last! As you can see, there are color variations according to the proportions of brass and bronze powder used in the casting resin. Gradually the brass has predominated due to my supply in the studio.
These are 60.00 each.

BTU slut
This "vehicle" is based on the Ford Explorer with addition of gas pump handle, pricks and dicks, and graffitti. (To be fair there is also a pair of aggressive nipples). I read an analysis of SUV drivers that determined Ford Explorer drivers were the most selfish and narcissistic of all. And Ford made an obscene 10k per vehicle profit on the Explorer as well, because it is just a cheap truck platform without any of the safety features that define the "minivan" series. I wrote a poem about this type of gas guzzler called "Me-american". The sculpture epitomizes the poem and it's ravaged rabid dog imagery.

NIna as Wharf Rat circa 1979
Years ago, I was in trouble with alcohol and the people who loved me and I came to Ptown and worked on the wharf unloading boats for 4 or 5 years. This is the kind of job that anyone in their right mind would leave in 4 or 5 days. There was a permanent help wanted sign nailed over the door. It worked for me though because I could drink all day and not care about anything. Well actually I came to care alot about the fishermen and their boats and took some pride in some of the things I did like running the winch. But, this statue represents how alcohol stopped me from expressing myself and developing--the whisky bottle rises up into my neck and my heart and my mind are both starved and disconnected.

My dog Sarge
Sarge was the best dog! He was broken--his legs didn't work, and he was incontinent, and he was in a wheelchair, but he would chase airplanes overhead. He was always cheerful and eager and ready to dig and burrow and generally just be fully dog-alive! I sculpted him whole because he made me whole and I saw his soul as perfect and want to express what he was inside. I didn't want people to pity the creation, because Sarge was totally admirable.

Shapes
I don't know what these are about. Shapes from the sub conscious. I brought them all out in a box for the Dad Invasion of Turners Falls--I added a fart machine or two and called it a F*ART*Y.
